2 Las Vegas Raiders Fantasy Football Sleepers For 2024

The Las Vegas Raiders have a largely new offense in 2024. With Derek Carr far back in the rearview mirror, the team has elected to put their hopes in Gardner Minshew II. While that fact alone leaves fantasy managers with trepidation about selecting anyone in the offense not named Davante Adams, there are two pieces worth strongly considering.

Here’s a look at two Raiders sleepers worth examining.

    Jakobi Meyers, WR

Over the last three years, Jakobi Meyers has been an 800-yard machine. While this far from guarantees a starting role week in and week out, it does provide managers with a solid floor they can count on. Meyers has spent most of his career with the New England Patriots.

Now as a member of the Raiders for the second straight year, Meyers should be even more comfortable in Antonio Pierce’s coaching style heavily influenced by his time in New England.

Put simply, expect Davante Adams to soak up most of the attention from secondaries, giving Meyers plenty of opportunities in one-on-one action.

    Brock Bowers, TE

Brock Bowers is a rookie. By that mere fact alone, managers are scared off. However, Bowers would not be the first rookie tight end to produce a starting level of points in fantasy football. Just last season, Sam LaPorta earned 889 yards and 10 touchdowns as a rookie.

Many believe Bowers could be even better. While taking a shot on a rookie could be scary, it is the one who dares is the one who wins.

Bowers was drafted 13th overall by the Raiders and was hyped to be just as good coming out of college. Spending a fourth-round pick on Bowers to be your starting tight end for the entire 2024 season would not be something all that crazy. Of course, the later one can get Bowers, the lower the risk. However, while he is running under the radar right now, don’t expect the secret to last forever.

Many believed the Raiders were in line to draft one of the many quarterbacks that were taken in the 2024 NFL Draft. But when all of the top prospects were taken, the Raiders had every reason to move back. Instead, they drafted Bowers, which goes to show how impressed they were with him.

As such, expect the Las Vegas Raiders to work him early and often into the offense. They spent a lot of capital on him so they will want to get him plenty of work.
