3 Bold Predictions For Miami Dolphins WR Tyreek Hill vs. Jaguars

Tyreek Hill was one of the best wide receivers in football last season. Most would argue that he was even better than that. However, it is a new season and the Miami Dolphins star is starting from zero yards after racking up essentially 1800 yards and 13 touchdowns last year.

Every year total is built week by week, and Hill starts the build once again in 2024. Will it be a roaring head start or a stumble out of the gates against the Jacksonville Jaguars?

Here’s a look at three bold predictions for Hill in Week 1.

Tyreek Hill will have over 100 yards

Hill might now be on the wrong side of 30, but turning 30 doesn’t instantly flip the switch from useful to useless. Rather, while he won’t blow the doors off the stat sheet (by his standards) in this category, he will put together a game on pace for 1800 yards. This isn’t a guarantee he will hit that number in the end, but considering the favorable temperatures, Hill will be plenty productive.

He will have three uncharacteristic drops

While Hill’s yardage will look solid by the end of the game, a few of his plays won’t hit the highlight reel.

The wide receiver will have several drops in the game in an uncharacteristic fashion. Hill is battling a thumb injury, which will impact his ability to catch balls cleanly. He will snag more than a few in the contest, but he will have multiple drops.

According to the weather forecast , the game could be a rainy one. As such, it won’t be the perfect environment to catch passes. That said, by the end of the game, seeing the focal point of the offense making any mistakes will be enough to put Dolphins fans on edge.

Tyreek Hill’s fantasy value takes hit due to hiss performance

Hill has yet to follow up a double-digit touchdown season with a second one in a row. He has had several over the course of his career, but never back-to-back. As such, mathematically speaking, he is in for a ceiling of roughly one touchdown every two games. He might get a touchdown in Week 2, but he won’t in Week 1.

This will sting fantasy managers who drafted Tyreek Hill in the top five, but it won’t throw them into trade now mode. By Week 2, he still will be a no-brainer starter.
