Livestock nutrition workshops planned in Fairbanks, Delta Junction
Raising livestock in Alaska can be challenging, with animals’ dietary requirements changing with the seasons and the production cycle. Rachael Christensen, a research animal scientist with the Northern Great Plains Research Laboratory, part of the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Agricultural Research Service, will lead two free livestock nutrition workshops. Alaska Hockey Hosts All-Women’s Camp on August 21-23
FAIRBANKS - The Alaska Nanooks hockey program is set to host its all-women's hockey camp on August 21-23 at the Patty Ice Arena. The camp is open to all female participants over the age of 18. For the three-day camp, attendees will hit the ice with current and former Nanooks hockey coaches and players. Registration for the camp is due by Tuesday, August 20, by 9:59 p.m. AKST. Nikic earns Academic All-American honors
ANCHORAGE, ALASKA – Leon Nikic from the University of Alaska Anchorage earned Academic All-American At-Large honors from the College Sports Communicators. Nikic enjoyed a stand-out season on the slopes earning All-American honors with a ninth-place finish in the giant slalom and an 11th-place finish in the slalom at the NCAA National Championships. The native of Tux, Austria was named the RMISA Giant Slalom MVP after posting eight top-10 finishes, including four podium finishes. He has a 3.77 GPA in psychology.

He says that the city has received $40 million dollars in funds so far this year.
