2024 Italian Fest canceled, other Mahoning Valley Italian festivals remain on the schedule
The Italian Heritage Foundation of Youngstown has announced the cancellation of the 2024 Italian Fest that was set for Public Square on Aug. 2-4. This announcement came in the wake of the fatal blast at the Realty Building in late May that has devastated the downtown area, and has required several buildings around the square to be evacuated or closed because of safety concerns.
Five world championship boxers announced as 2024 honorees for Youngstown Walk of Fame
Youngstown Mayor Tito Brown has announced the city's five world championship as the 2024 honorees for the Youngstown Walk of Fame. Youngstown has five world championship boxers including Ray "Boom Boom" Mancini, Kelly "The Ghost" Pavlik, Harry Arroyo, Jeff Lampkin and Greg Richardson. All five will be honored at once.

Decreasing clouds, showers this evening just in time for fireworks
FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - It was an uncharacteristically gloomy 4th with occasional showers/drizzle. This, paired with sky-high humidity and highs near 80º made it feel positively tropical! While that part of the forecast won’t be changing much tonight for the many fireworks displays in store, showers and cloud coverage will decrease as the evening progresses. Northeast Indiana and Northwest Ohio will be free from any relentless rain or wind after sunset, even if an isolated shower/pop up can’t be completely ruled out due to the aforementioned humid conditions.
