STURGIS, S.D. - Neil Hultman, a pivotal figure in the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally for over 70 years, will be honored as the Grand Marshal of the 84th Sturgis Motorcycle Rally. Hultman, who passed away earlier this year, was a central figure in the Rally's history, known for his role as the club's first road captain, leading tours from Sturgis to Mount Rushmore, a tradition that continues to this day.
Spearfish Picks up Win over Zap in Single Game Series
For the second time this season, the Oahe Zap would fall to Spearfish in a single game series as the Sasquatch would take Tuesday’s game in a 6-1 final score. Spearfish would pick up three runs in the first inning all with two outs as the Sasquatch were off and running from the start. Oahe would allow an unearned run in the third and another unearned run in a two run seventh trailing 6-0. Oahe’s only run would come with a two out error in the top of the eighth off the bat of Aiden Johnson as the Zap had just four hits in the game including a double by Leandro Guevara. Jakob Swallow would pick up the loss on the mound settling in after the three run first going five innings on eighth hits, one walk and six strikeouts. Spearfish used four pitchers to get through the nine innings for the win to even their record at 8-8.

Douglas’ Trennan Pearson Commits to Black Hills State for Track and Field
Douglas grad Trennan Pearson has signed a National Letter of Intent to compete in track and field at Black Hills State University in Spearfish, SD. Pearson was a four-time qualifier for the state track championships. He won four 3A East Regional titles in his career. Pearson competed in three events at the state track meet in 2023 and 2024.

Evans Park in Spearfish, also fondly known to the public as “rocket ship park,” officially reopened to the public Monday night.
