Slipknot kicked off their 25th anniversary tour Tuesday night (August 6th) in Noblesville, Indiana, playing a throwback setlist of 1999-era material.
The alternative metal pioneers are celebrating their first album with Corey Taylor — Slipknot’s iconic 1999 self-titled LP — on the North American trek, which runs through August 17th with a second leg set for September (get tickets here ).
“Nothing you will hear tonight was written after 1999,” Taylor told the crowd in Noblesville. The set opened with with a barrage of “(sic),” “Eyeless,” and “Wait and Bleed” before hitting some deeper cuts that hadn’t been played in a while.
“No Life” and set closer “Scissors” were the evening’s biggest surprises, as they hadn’t been played in nearly 25 years according to Setlist.fm . The band also dusted off “Me Inside” for the first time since 2015 and “Only One” for the first time since 2012. Overall, Slipknot played 14 tracks, including a three-song encore of “Spit It Out,” “Surfacing,” and the aforementioned “Scissors.”
