Riverview family pushing for legislation to help fentanyl addicts
TAMPA, Fla. — According to the latest report from the Florida Medical Examiners Commission, fentanyl caused the most deaths in the first half of 2023. As it continues to be a crisis impacting many across the state of Florida, some families want something to be done to help addicts and their families.

SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) - Some drier air will push into south Florida tomorrow, which will prompt slightly lower rain chances on Wednesday. Storms are still expected, with a chance for scattered showers starting early in the afternoon, but rainfall should not be widespread. However, as with the past few days, light winds mean storms will be close to stationary, and the threat of heavy precipitation remains for some isolated areas. 40% chance of rain.
Donate blood at City Hall 8/14
The Oneblood Big Red Bus will be at Venice City Hall, 401 W. Venice Ave., for a blood drive Wednesday, Aug. 14, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oneblood officials encourage all City employees and members of the public who feel well to come out and donate the “gift of life” to ensure that blood is available for those patients who need it. Note: It must be 56 days since your last whole blood donation. ID required please.
