Mechanical Failure Causes RV Crash
A Colorado man was transported to a hospital in Kansas after a mechanical failure caused him to crash a motor home on Interstate 70 late Thursday night. According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, a motor home was headed east on I 70 when it lost brakes and power steering. The RV took Exit 107, crossed K 212 Highway, and crashed into a tree.
Nebraska man sentenced for hiding fugitive for four years
An Alma man charged federally after prosecutors say he harbored or concealed a man from arrest for four years has been sentenced. David Sikes, 69, was sentenced Wednesday in U.S. District Court to three years probation on one count of harboring or concealing a person from arrest. The charge was alleged to have occurred between Jan. 17, 2018, until at least Jan. 14, 2022.

Holdrege, Neb. — Law enforcement in Phelps County is currently investigating a theft case where a mower was stolen from a Holdrege business place. The Phelps County Sheriff’s Office said on Tuesday that they are seeking information related to a theft that occurred at Landmark Implement located just west of Holdrege between April 5 and April 26, 2024.
