LAFAYETTE, La. (KPEL News) - Hyundai vehicle owners in Louisiana may need to check their fuel pumps after a recall notice from the company that impacts nearly 55,000 vehicles. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the automotive company is recalling certain 2019-2023 models of Genesis G70, Veloster N, Elantra N, and Kona N because of problems with the fuel delivery system.

Chief Bry Layrisson reports the arrest of Ricky Alexander, 42, for his involvement in a shooting that resulted in a homicide in June. The shooting took place in the 500 block of North 3rd street around 9:30pm on June 6, 2024.
