Illinois high school volleyball: Key dates for the 2024 season

The Illinois High School Association will crown four volleyball state champions in less than four months from now.

Galena (1A), Breese Mater Dei (2A), Wheaton St. Frances (3A) and Chicago Mother McAuley (4A) each won a state title last season. Mother McAuley’s 17 state titles stretching back to 1977 is the most by any school.

Here are some key dates for the 2024 IHSA volleyball season:

When is the first day of Illinois volleyball practice?

The first official day of practice is Aug. 12.

When are the first matches for the Illinois volleyball season?

The first matches begin Aug. 26.

When do the Illinois volleyball playoffs begin?

Regionals will run Oct. 28-31.

When are the Illinois volleyball state finals?

The state finals will occur Nov. 15-16 at Illinois State University’s CEFCU Arena in Normal.
