Peddler Permits for the Farmers Market a Main Topic for Norris City Village Meeting
The Norris City Village Board met in its regular monthly session for about an hour Monday night. Scott Mareing was there and has this report…. Ashley Garlick, Vice President of the Chamber of Commerce and two other members spoke to the board concerning peddler permits for the Farmers Market. She said they host events in the village every Thursday from 10 AM to 5 PM and can’t afford to pay fees being charged to vendors and would have to shut them down. This brings in businesses and is a benefit to the community, which Mayor Skip Land agreed. Village attorney Nathan Roland said they may need to update the ordinance to accommodate the Chamber. The Mayor said he and the board will work with them to hammer out an agreement both sides would be happy with.
