    One killed in single-vehicle crash in Aiken County

    AIKEN COUNTY, S.C. (WJBF) – The Aiken County Coroner’s Office is investigating a single-vehicle crash that claimed the life of a North Augusta man.

    The accident occurred Saturday, July 13th at approximately 7:50 p.m. on the 900 block of Ascauga Lake Road near Chalk Bed Road.

    The driver of a 2010 Nissan Maxima was traveling north on Ascauga Lake Road when the vehicle ran off the right side of the road, hit a mailbox, then a tree.

    The driver of the vehicle was pronounced dead on the scene at 8:33 p.m. from blunt force injuries.

    Aiken County Coroner Darryl Ables has identified the victim as 39-year-old Jesus Trinidad-Rosales.

    The Coroner’s Office along with South Carolina Highway Patrol are continuing with the investigation.
