    Coroner releases name of North Augusta man killed in Aiken County crash

    The Aiken County Coroner's Office recently identified a North Augusta man who died after crashing into a mailbox and tree on Saturday.

    The driver of the vehicle has been identified as 39-year-old Jesus Trinidad-Rosales, according to a news release from the coroner's office.

    The crash happened just before 8 p.m. Saturday on the 900 block of Ascuaga Lake Road, near Chalk Bed Road, according to the release.

    Trinidad-Rosales was traveling north on Ascauga Lake Road when he ran off the right side of the road, hit a mailbox and then a tree, according to the release. He was pronounced dead at the scene from blunt force injuries.

    The coroner's office and South Carolina Highway Patrol are continuing with the investigation, according to the agency. A toxicology analysis is pending.
