‘You changed my life’: Metro Atlanta educator has tearful reunion with his 5th grade teacher
ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - A new metro Atlanta teacher tearfully reunited with one of the “superheroes” who taught him as a child. Ricky Latimore Jr. will start his new job as a 4th grade teacher at Flint Hill Elementary School in Newton County next week. On Friday, he was attending a workshop for incoming Newton County Schools teachers when he “experienced a moment that I know could only be orchestrated by the Lord.”

GCPS schools Awarded NASA Moon Trees
Gwinnett School of Mathematics, Science, and Technology (GSMST) and Lilburn Elementary School have been awarded Moon Trees through the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) and the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Forest Service grant. GSMST is slated to receive four seedlings with plans to plant them on the school grounds during a special ceremony on August 28, 2024, at 9:00 a.m. Lilburn Elementary received a Loblolly Pine Tree sapling, which was planted on its campus in May.
