Disney’s New York Headquarters Completes Construction At 7 Hudson Square in Hudson Square, Manhattan
Construction wraps up on The Walt Disney Company’s 22-story New York headquarters at 7 Hudson Square in Hudson Square, Manhattan. Designed by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill and developed by Silverstein Properties, the 338-foot-tall structure yields a total of 1.2 million square feet for new offices, film and production studios, and ground-floor retail space. Gensler served as the interior designer, and Lendlease served the general contractor for the ground-up project, which is alternately addressed as 137 Varick Street formerly addressed as 4 Hudson Square, and stands on an 85,600-square-foot full-block plot bound by Vandam Street to the north, Spring Street to the south, Varick Street to the east, and Hudson Street to the west.

Disney changes course on wrongful death lawsuit
NEW YORK - Disney has changed course, and now says it will not seek arbitration following the death of a doctor from Long Island. Amy Tangsuan, a doctor at NYU Langone from Plainview, died when she had an allergy attack after eating at a Disney Springs Raglan Road restaurant. Tangsuan had a severe dairy and nut allergy. Friends said she was vigilant whenever she dined out, repeatedly asking about the possible presence of those allergens in food. The lawsuit claims the waiter at the restaurant guaranteed certain foods would be made allergen-free. Tangsuan died from "anaphylaxis due to elevated levels of dairy and nuts in...
West Nile Virus Has Been Detected In New Yorkers
While West Nile Virus had already been detected in all five NYC boroughs, the year’s first cases of actual New Yorkers carrying the virus has been detected. According to the NYC Health Department, four people with West Nile virus have been reported in Queens and Manhattan–one was diagnosed with West Nile fever and three were hospitalized with neuroinvasive disease, beginning in late July. In addition to the four New Yorkers carrying the virus, West Nile was also detected in blood donations from three people who reside in Brooklyn, Queens, and Manhattan, and reports of two people with possible West Nile virus disease in the Bronx are also under investigation.
