One Dead in Accident Near Johnson Road
(La Porte County, IN) - A Union Mills man died in a single vehicle crash Friday. Shortly before noon, first responders were called to CR 300 North, west of Johnson Road. Police say a westbound 2010 Ford Explorer crossed the center line and the eastbound lane, striking a tree on the south side of the road and overturning.
Culver Community School Board Approves MOUs with County Sheriff’s Departments
The Culver Community School Board members approved Memorandum of Understanding documents with area sheriff’s departments during their meeting Monday, July 15. Superintendent Karen Shuman explained that there are times where the corporation’s School Resource Officers could work community events such as, for example, the Culver Lake Fest, or at Monterey Days as a volunteer or as a hired officer. Essentially, they would be serving families in communities that support the Culver Community School Corporation.
