Women’s Club of Coconut Creek to Offer 2 Scholarships for Aspiring Firefighters, Technicians in Honor of Late Battalion Chief
Students interested in a career in firefighting/EMT or automotive repair can apply for a scholarship from the Women’s Club of Coconut Creek. The club just began collecting funds toward two new scholarships for graduates for the upcoming 2024/2025 school year. According to Laura McDermott Matheric, the club’s president, applicants must reside in Coconut Creek and can be graduates of a public, charter, private, or home school.

LAKE WORTH — The first day of the 2024-25 school year at Effie Morris Early Learning Academy in Lake Worth Independent School District began at 7 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 13. This is the first day back for Lake Worth ISD after the summer break. Effie Morris is home to Lake Worth ISD daycare, pre-K and kindergarten students. Parents lined up all the way to the sidewalk to drop off their kids for their first day of school.
