LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – This week Arkansas State Police announced they made an arrest in the death of two teens back in May of 2023.

ASP investigators said 25-year-old Devontea Clay was arrested Monday for his alleged involvement in the deadly shootings of 16-year-old Sucram O’Donald and 19-year-old LaMarion Gilliam.

Special agents said that they received a call about a person lying on State Highway 161 near Scott on May 23, 2023. Investigators said that Gilliam was found at the scene with multiple gunshot wounds and later died from injuries sustained in the shooting.

ASP officials said that O’Donald’s body was found in a nearby field near where Gilliam’s body was found. Investigators said that O’Donald has been shot several times.

O’Donald’s sisters say they were thrilled when they heard about the arrest in the case.

“When I first found out I was happy, the first thing I was going to do was tell my mama because it’s been a long time and my favorite phrase is God is going to get them,” Tyiera O’Donald said.

However, Tyiera O’Donald says she still wants answers for their brother.

“I have a lot of questions for him because he had no reason to do what he did,” O’Donald said.

Alundra Dison and Montieana O’Donald are also O’Donald’s sisters, they all say he was not a bad kid but made some wrong decisions like many other kids do but didn’t deserve to die.

“I say you can’t surround yourself just around anyone, in the long run everyone who portrays to be your friend is not and it shows in the end,” Dison said.

O’Donald adds her brother, “left by gun violence that didn’t determine his heart, or who he was or the life he was raised in.”

They all wish O’Donald was alive, as they say they keep him close in their hearts.

“He is etched in me, in my mind, my heart, my soul,” Dison stated.

ASP officials said that Clay is facing two counts of capital murder. He is currently being held at the Pulaski County Regional Detention Facility.
