NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – A morning car crash on Arkansas Highway 107 is expected to lead to a power outage for over 5,000 North Little Rock residents in the area on Wednesday.

North Little Rock Electrical Department cautioned its customers that the wreck damaged one of its polls and would require power to be cut to three circuits from noon to 2 p.m. A utility representative said in a social media post that the outage would affect over 5,000 customers.

A picture from the scene posted with the utility’s announcement shows an SUV that jumped a curb and apparently knocked down a utility pole.

Damage from the crash also affected gas utilities, officials said, and the electric utility needs that group to finish its repairs before it can begin repairs to electrical service.
