MANCHESTER, Ind. (WANE) – The coaching carousel keeps on spinning for Manchester. For the third time in as many years, the Squires have a new head coach with Brian Enyeart taking the reins this season.

Last year with Eddie Fields at the helm, Manchester marched to the sectional championship round for the first time since 2007. The Squires bowed out to eventual 2A state champion Bishop Luers to finish with a 5-7 record.

Enyeart, a Manchester grad himself, is benefitting from several starters returning from last year’s team. Logan Eastgate is back to lead the offense at quarterback. Last year, Eastgate tossed for 1,076 yards, throwing 10 touchdowns while also rushing for four scores on the ground. Running back Reiss Gaerte is coming off a 1,000-yard season as a sophomore, while Eli Metzger returns as the Squires’ top wideout.

On defense, Gaerte led the team in tackles with 78 last season. Meanwhile, Jose Cortez and Davin Hendrix look to take another step after racking up four and three sacks last season, respectively.

Manchester kicks off their season on Friday, Aug. 23 against Northwestern.
