City of Lawton names new Public Works Director
LAWTON, Oklahoma (KAUZ) - Michael Watrous was named the city’s new Public Works Director at the Lawton City Council meeting on Tuesday, July 23. Watrous will be succeeding Larry Wolcott in this position. According to the City of Lawton, Watrous will oversee the department’s operations and review procedures to enhance the effectiveness of divisions such as Drainage Maintenance, Electronic Maintenance, Solid Waste, the Landfill, Stormwater Management, and Streets and Traffic Control.
OKC Thunder announces 2024-25 preseason schedule
The Oklahoma City Thunder announced their 2024-25 preseason schedule. They will play in five contests in 10 days from Oct. 7 to Oct. 17. After a first-seed finish last season, the Thunder enter next year with high expectations. They are viewed as a championship favorite after the additions of Alex Caruso and Isaiah Hartenstein. This will also be the second season together for OKC’s trio of Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Chet Holmgren and Jalen Williams. Expect those three to continue to develop. Man arrested after 14 cattle were killed with a crossbow at St. Gregory's Abbey
A man has been arrested as part of a month-long Shawnee Police investigation into the killing of more than a dozen cattle belonging to the monks at St. Gregory's Abbey. An 18-year-old was arrested on four complaints of cruelty to animals and two counts of larceny of livestock on Thursday, said Vivian Lozano, Shawnee Police public information officer.
