Neighbor allegedly punches mayor of Whitehall, facing assault and battery charges
WHITEHALL, Mich. — A neighbor of the mayor of Whitehall is facing charges after allegedly punching him, the Muskegon County Prosecutors Office confirmed. Amy Josephson, 64, is charged with assault and battery for allegedly punching Whitehall Mayor Steve Salter, the Muskegon County Prosecutors Office said. Salter allegedly hit Josephson back in self-defense.

Teacher’s death deemed suicide
HART — The death of 33-year-old teacher Juan Carlos Lozano of New Era has been determined to be a suicide, said Oceana County Sheriff Craig Mast. “It’s been deemed on his death certificate and through our investigation as self-inflicted,” said Sheriff Mast. “We have no evidence to the contrary.”
