Wichita teen sentenced in fatal 2023 shooting
A Wichita teenager has been sentenced to more than ten and a half years in prison for the shooting death of another teen last year. A Sedgwick County judge handed a 128-month sentence to 17-year-old Makyh Townes, who pleaded guilty in May to involuntary manslaughter and aggravated assault. Townes was also sentenced to 31 months each on two counts of aggravated assault, but the sentences will run concurrently.
