Sterling College Athletics Announces the Hall Of Fame Class of 2024
STERLING, KAN. (scwarriors.com) – Sterling College Athletics announces its 2024 Hall of Fame Recipients. This year’s class includes two student-athletes, one coach, and one KCAC Championship team. Sterling College’s fifteenth Hall of Fame ceremony will take place on September 28th, 2024. The induction ceremony will be held at halftime of the homecoming football game against Southwestern College at Smisor Stadium. There will be a reception before the game in the Gleason Center. More specific information can be found on the SC Warriors website as the Hall of Fame weekend approaches.

Martine is originally from Haiti and has lived in Junction City for 15 years having been petitioned by her mother to be able to come to the United States. After five years, Martine joined the Army and ended up at Fort Riley. Martine owns and operates the Chez Matou Green Machine Food Truck located on North Washington Street in Junction City.

Cooler temperatures coming for Ellinwood's 51st After Harvest Festival
What a difference a week makes. Temperatures in Central Kansas soared past 100 degrees from July 12-15. With Ellinwood's 51st After Harvest Festival kicking off Thursday, the mid-summer event will feature highs mostly in the 80s and evening lows in the 60s. Retiring Junction City Manager will be recognized
The public retirement reception for Junction City Manager Allen Dinkel is scheduled from 1:30 to 4;30 p.m. Wednesday at the Junction City Municipal Auditorium. Bonner Springs takes steps needed for Mattel Park
BONNER SPRINGS, Kan. (KCTV) - Bonner Springs city leaders are one step closer to a Mattel Amusement Park within its city limits. The 7-member Bonner Springs Planning Commission voted unanimously on July 16 to approve the requested amendment to the Comprehensive Plans Future Land Use Map. The request was to revert the parcel in question back to its previous classification of “Mixed-Use” from “Industrial-Use” it was changed to in January/February of 2023.
Bee Jay Defense Falters in Loss to Larks
The Liberal Bee Jay defense committed four errors and allowed six unearned runs in an 8-5 loss to the Hays Larks at Brent Gould Field Tuesday night. Man arrested in connection to aggravated burglary, stalking incident in southwest Topeka
TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - A Topeka man was arrested in connection to an aggravated burglary and stalking incident in southwest Topeka, Kan. According to the Topeka Police Department officials, officers responded to a domestic disturbance just after 11:30 p.m. on Monday, July 15 in the 3100 block of SW 10th Ave. in Topeka. Upon arrival, it was reported that the individual was identified as Jermaine Poree, 38, of Topeka, and was in the area of a residence where he was reportedly not allowed. Poree fled the scene before the officers arrived.
