Owned and run by husband and wife Ali and Maryam Amirsadri, House of Liquors has been located on the same street for all 11 years of its history. The couple got their start across the street from the store’s current address. When they purchased the business in early 2013, they were renting a 4,000-square-foot space in a plaza. Less than a year later, they decided to move across the street into a building that Ali already owned—at 549 Quaker Lane.

BURRILLVILLE – With the summer season now underway, there will be more outdoor activities happening that involve campfires, open flames, fire pits and barbecues. Adults will be lighting these fires with matches and lighters. Children watch what adults are doing at any given time of day. They also like to copy what adults are doing. It is extremely important that adults keep matches and lighters far away from children.

Proclamation celebrates legacy & memory of Dave Witham with 4th annual Daveapalooza
When a person passes on from this plane of existence, their impact is often very considerable. It can be sensed within their family, their group of friends and their community as a whole. This is a great way to briefly describe the legacy of Proclamation Ale Company founder Dave Witham, who sadly passed away on Christmas Day back in 2020 after a battle with cancer. Ever since this loss, the folks at the brewery, including his wife Lori who now is the owner along with being the Creative Director, have celebrated Witham’s life with an extravagant party called Daveapalooza. This year’s edition is the fourth one, and it’s going to be taking place at the brewery on 274 Kilvert Street in Warwick on July 13 from 12 noon to 6pm.
RI Spirits Raises Funds During Pride Month
Pawtucket’s Rhode Island Spirits celebrated Pride Month in June while raising funds for an LGBTQ+ charitable cause. Throughout the month, RI Spirits donated $2 for every Pink Lemonade cocktail sold at its tasting room to benefit Youth Pride Inc., a Rhode Island-based nonprofit working to give support, education and advocacy to LGBTQ+ youth and young adults. The distillery partnered with more than 15 Rhode Island and Massachusetts venues, who served their own twist of the cocktail that features Rhodium RI Red Vodka blended with fresh lemonade. Participating venues donated a portion of cocktail sales: Providence’s Aloft Providence Downtown, Blu Violet Roof Bar, Oberlin, Gift Horse, Gilligan’s Pub, Plant City, 345 Speakeasy, The Patio on Broadway, Tiny Bar, The Stable and Kimi’s Bar; Bristol’s The Beach House; Pawtucket’s Hangry Kitchen; and Boston’s The Banks Seafood and Steak. In its second year of the effort, RI Spirits Co-owner Cathy Plourde said she was “thrilled” to see the number of partners and donations multiply. “Some went the whole month, some went for a set time, some for Pride weekend. The donations varied from a percentage to an amount per cocktail, to a flat donation, all according to what worked best for each,” she said. Founded by owners Plourde and Kara Larson, the company is New England’s only LGBT-owned spirits brand. RI Spirits are crafted from local fresh, farmed and foraged ingredients and are gluten-free, organic, non-GMO and vegan, with all in the lineup but one certified kosher by RI Kosher.
