Couple seek decision on possible second dwelling unit on property
TEWKSBURY — The Tewksbury Zoning Board of Appeals met on June 27, 2024 with members Nancy Rego, Daniel Teixeira, and Robert Dugan. The Zoning Board of Appeals reviews and approves applications for variances from the town’s zoning bylaw under Chapter 40A of the Massachusetts General Laws. The board also hears appeals related to decisions on permits and enforcement action made by the town building department.
Guide to vote in state primary in Tewksbury
TEWKSBURY — The state primary is creeping closer by the day, and Tewksbury has just released a guide offering different options for those who wish to vote. The primary takes place on Sept. 3, from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. The deadline to register to vote in time for this election, or change parties, is on Saturday, Aug. 24.
Planning Board Addresses Signage Regulations & Menu Board Proposals
The Planning Board met last night with all members present. There were no committee reports. In her Town Planner’s report, Community/Economic Development Planner Alexandra Lowder advised the board that the 792 Main Street applicant for Site Plan Review, Land Disturbance Permit, and Sign Special Permit has requested continuance to the next Planning Board Meeting, August 19th. Jonathan Ciampa will not be present for the August 19th meeting as he will be visiting his new grandson. Congratulations Jon!

Mass. weather: Chance of rain, thunderstorms almost daily this week
After a pleasant day with highs in the mid-80s, Massachusetts will experience unsettled weather Monday evening that could be marked by heavy rainfall and localized flooding. But National Weather Service forecasters say the heaviest rainfall is likely to occur offshore, though there is a chance Nantucket, Martha’s Vineyard or even Cape Cod are hit hard. Massachusetts seems to have a law for everything and while it makes sense for some things others are just strange. As we all know the 4th of July recently passed and Massachusetts is the only state that has a law against consumer fireworks including buying, selling, and using. Some folks agree with this law while others think it's complete nonsense. In addition, this law doesn't seem to be enforced in Massachusetts at least not in my area. So, why even have the law if it's not being enforced? Either way, the law is the law.

DEDHAM - A juror in the Karen Read murder trial says that the jury had decided to acquit Read on two of the charges she was facing in the death of Boston police officer John O'Keefe, but was unsure about what to do next.The deliberating juror, who asked to remain anonymous, told WBZ-TV's Kristina Rex Monday that the jury was unanimous in finding Read not guilty of second-degree murder and leaving the scene of personal injury and death. Regular service resumes on 2 MBTA Green Line branches after rail, wire issues
BOSTON — Regular service has resumed on the MBTA Green Line C branch after crew made repairs to parts of the rail near Cleveland Circle on Monday afternoon. Boston Police Apprehend "Most Wanted" Suspect Ahmed Ibrahim on Multiple Serious Charges
On the tail of a midsummer noon, Boston streets saw the close of a chapter as law enforcement closed in on a figure who had climbed their list of priorities. Ahmed Ibrahim, a 33-year-old Boston resident, was apprehended by officers assigned to District C-6 (South Boston), a detail made public by the Boston Police Department.
