Explorers doubleheader at Kansas City postponed to later date, Sioux City turns focus to road series with Milwaukee
KANSAS CITY, KS. (KCAU) – The Sioux City Explorers doubleheader against the Kansas City Monarchs has been postponed due to weather, with a makeup date yet to be determined. Sioux City will turn its focus to its upcoming series on the road against the Milwaukee Milkmen. Game 1 is slated for tomorrow at 6:35 p.m.
Hinton softball gets offense back on track with 20 runs
SIOUX CITY — The Hinton softball team was in a slump at the plate. The Blackhawks had been shut out by Akron-Westfield and Remsen St. Mary’s and held to two runs against a one-win West Sioux team as part of a three-game losing streak. The team broke out of the slump with a 20-0 win in three innings against Whiting/Siouxland Christian on Monday.

BAH Black Sox 14U Splits Doubleheader with EPJ
The Beresford/Alcester-Hudson Black Sox 14U team split a doubleheader with Elk Point-Jefferson on Wednesday, June 26th. Elk Point-Jefferson scored five times in the top of the first and cruised to the win in the first game. BAH got one run in the bottom of the first. Elk Point-Jefferson then scored three runs in the top of the third and two in the fourth for a 10-1 lead. BAH got another run in the bottom of the fourth. Elk Point-Jefferson had three runs in the top of the fifth while BAH scored two times in the bottom of the inning.

HINTON — In their first game in nearly a week, the Class 1A top-ranked Akron-Westfield baseball team showed little signs of rust in a 12-0 win in five innings over Gehlen Catholic on Tuesday. With both teams having their home fields flooded, the game was held at Hinton’s Diediker Field.
