McCook Lake boat retrieval postponed to Tuesday

NORTH SIOUX CITY, SD (KCAU) — The boat retrieval on McCook Lake that was scheduled for Monday night has been postponed to Tuesday.

According to a release from the City of North Sioux City , the controlled boat retrieval process on McCook Lake is being postponed to Tuesday.

Efforts to retrieve boats will take place starting at 5:30 p.m. and last until 7:30 p.m. This will take place at the Izaak Walton League boat ramp.

Boaters are asked to arrive between the allotted time with the following:

• Vehicle and empty boat trailer
• Vehicle driver and boat operator (2 people total)
• Address of boat being retrieved
• Photo ID
• Life jacket

Waters on McCook Lake remain closed to boats. All boat retrieval efforts will be escorted by conservation officers.

Only boats that are operational will be retrieved and the retrieval of other personal property will not be allowed.

(KELO) People who own boats that were docked at flooded McCook Lake will now be able to retrieve their watercraft.

Boat owners can report to the Isaak Walton League from 6-9 p.m. Sunday and Monday.

Conservation Officers will escort each owner to their boats and back to the Izaak Walton League ramp.

Owners need to bring their own boat trailer and a photo ID.
