Cultural Arts: Music in the Park is in full swing; next concert July 28
–Saturday, July 27, 5:30-7:30 p.m. – Ava August. Every Sunday through Aug. 18, 5-7 p.m. Bluebird Park, 772 Cress St. Music in the Park is a free public concert series held Sunday evenings in July and August, at Bluebird Park. Concerts start at 5 p.m. Set-up is not permitted before 3 p.m. No dogs are allowed at Bluebird Park (LBMC 6.16.020). No smoking (LBMC 7.40.030). No display or sale of merchandise (LBMC 18.04.015). Low-seating beach chairs are encouraged. Alcohol is permitted for guests 21 or older, but must be accompanied by a full meal. Solicitation of any kind is not permitted at city events.

In the middle of reminiscing about his journey after graduating from Valencia in 2016, Rodriguez stopped to sign a yellow baseball for 10-year-old Liam Montiel, something Rodriguez never thought would happen following a high school pitching career that saw him toss just 10 innings over one varsity season.
An East L.A. mural honoring veterans is finally complete
East Los Angeles -- An unfinished mural paying homage to local veterans from East Los Angeles was made complete, Los Angeles County Supervisor Hilda Solis announced Friday. During a news conference Friday morning, Solis, whose 1st District includes East L.A., unveiled the panels that were missing from Richard Haro's "Among the Valiant" mural located at the community center at Ruben F. Salazar Park. Actor Edward James Olmos, known for his roles in "Miami Vice" and "American Me" joined Solis alongside residents and veterans of East L.A.

Laguna Beach announces changes to the Laguna Beach Marine Safety Team
On Wednesday, July 24, Laguna Beach City Manager Dave Kiff announced two major transitions for the Laguna Beach Marine Safety leadership team, both involving consequential and important leaders in the Department.
