Danville, Pa. — An intoxicated man claimed he wanted to kill an officer during a blood draw at a local hospital.

Kyle Johnston, 34, of Danville was stopped by police on Aug. 6 after swerving his car on East Market Street, according to a complaint. Johnston failed a sobriety test after being asked to get out, Officer Yvonne Kinney wrote in the report.

Johnston allegedly struggled with the tests, appearing drunk to the investigators, Kinney said. Johnston was arrested and taken to the Geisinger Medical Center's emergency department, where he agreed to a blood draw, according to Kinney.

Johnston said he wanted to kill one of the responding officers during the procedure, Kinney added.

Johnston is being charged with terroristic threats, DUI, careless driving, and disregard for traffic lanes. He is scheduled to appear before Judge William Wilt on Aug. 27 for a preliminary hearing.

    Johnston posted $2,000 cash bail.
