Selinsgrove, Pa. — A man accused of providing a fatal dose of fentanyl to a woman told police he purchased the drugs in Philadelphia.

Anthony Vincent Busard, 30, of Selinsgrove, was committed to Snyder County Prison on charges of drug delivery resulting in death for the Nov. 13 incident at the Valley Lodge Motel on North Susquehanna Trail. District Judge Scott A. Zeigler set bail at $75,000.

Busard had been staying in Room 7 at the motel when he and his girlfriend, Tiffany Kay Judge, 35, allegedly used drugs the evening of Nov. 12. When Busard woke up around 4 a.m. the next day, he found Judge unresponsive and yelled for help, according to the affidavit.

First responders arrived and attempted to perform life-saving measures on Judge. As EMS personnel were working on her, Busard grabbed his jacket, which contained four bags of heroin in the pocket, and left. Busard also grabbed Judge's ID card and cell phone on his way out because "he wanted them so he could remember her," he told police, according to the affidavit.

Busard was gone by the time PSP Selinsgrove arrived on the scene. Trooper Jeffrey Tice said police found drugs and drug paraphernalia in the room. Police also obtained search warrants for Busard's vehicle and found Judge's cell phone, drugs, and drug paraphernalia. A state police forensic lab examined the seized drugs and determined they were methamphetamine, fentanyl and xylazine, Delta-9 THC, and marijuana, Tice wrote in the affidavit.

Busard was located later on Nov. 13 by PSP Mansfield, who interviewed him at the barracks. Busard told police he had traveled to Kensington Avenue in Philadelphia to purchase "ice." Busard did not have connections to purchase drugs in the Selinsgrove area, and told police it was easy to purchase drugs on a corner in Philadelphia, according to the affidavit.

An autopsy was performed on Nov. 14 on Judge at Lehigh Valley Medical Center. Her cause of death was determined to be due to the combined effects of ethanol, fentanyl, methamphetamine, and xylazine, Tice wrote.

Busard was arraigned on Aug. 8 on one felony count drug delivery resulting in death, possession, and misdeamnor of tampering with evidence. He awaits his preliminary hearing scheduled for Sept. 23 at Zeigler's office.
