SARATOGA SPRINGS —Developers are seeking approval from the city Design Review Commission for the demolition of two long-standing single-story structures on Caroline Street and proposing to replace them with a new, single, multi-story mixed-use structure likely to house retail and/or restaurant on the ground floor with multi-unit residential use on floors 2 through 6, according to documents filed with the city.

Preservation Update: Changing Landscape of Caroline Street
Tonight, the Design Review Board will review an application for demolition and redevelopment of 33 and 35 Caroline Street. The applicant, Oldest Lighthouse LLC, is currently under contract to purchase the properties, in total three tax parcels, from the current owners. The applicant is proposing to remove the two existing single-story buildings and construct a six-story structure.
