The Nyack Farmers Market served more than goods Thursday when it sent love and well wishes to a vendor recovering from an accident earlier this month. Dozens signed a "get well sooner than soon" poster from the Nyack Farmers Market organizers for Devon Larkins, who mans the Doc Pickles stand. "Doc Pickle and myself, we love Nyack," said Larkins in a phone interview with News 12. He was in good spirits from a hospital after he was seriously injured from a crash earlier this month on Route 80 in Pennsylvania. News 12 is told part of his left leg may need to be amputated. "If you've been to the Nyack farmers market - you know Devon. He is the person who is always smiling. He provides our soundtrack. And his presence is instantly missed and as a matter of fact - we didn't do it intentionally but there's no music today and that's kind of the mood,” said Bill Batson, the manager of the farmers market. The poster created by the market also linked to a GoFundMe started by a family friend that has raised more than $25,000 for Larkins and his long-time girlfriend, Shana Gafner. "Everyone in our town, Lodi, New Jersey, we call him the mayor because he's always in everything. He's always willing to help," said Gafner, by phone. “He creates this buying experience of pickles into friendships, into laughter, into unbelievable conversation and making people come back." People may have also seen Larkins with Doc Pickles throughout New Jersey and Philadelphia. "
