Search underway for domestic violence suspect in Chapin; police warn public to avoid area
CHAPIN, S.C. — Chapin Police are searching for a suspect involved in a domestic violence incident earlier in the week. The department said on Friday afternoon that several officers were present, particularly in the area of Harvestview and John Lindler roads. Chapin Police said the suspect was female but didn't release her name. The Lexington County Sheriff's Department said the incident happened on Thursday morning and that they know who the suspect is.
Irmo to purchase new police vehicles and safety equipment
The Irmo Town Council Tuesday approved contracts for new police vehicles, new speed radar equipment and entertainers for the next Okra Strut Festival. The council approved the purchase of four Dodge Durango police vehicles in the amount of $177,529. The council also approved a contract for $49,446 to outfit patrol vehicles with lights, push bumpers and other accessories.
