Man charged after dead dogs found in Lexington County home
LEXINGTON COUNTY, S.C. — Investigators have charged a man with ill treatment of animals after an investigation uncovered dead dogs in his home. According to Lexington County investigators, 40-year-old Robert John Jachim admitted that he left the home on July 2 and didn't return. On Monday, investigators with the Lexington County Animal Services responded to the 5000 block of Corley Street, where they found five dogs inside, only two of which were still alive. Four of the dogs in the home were in wire crates, and the fifth small breed dog was dead in a bathroom. Investigators said none of the dogs had food or water.

GREENVILLE, S.C. (FOX Carolina) - A major doctor shortage in the Carolinas is impacting patient health. Many are waiting several months or a year to get an appointment. According to data from the Association of American Medical Colleges, the doctor shortage is about twice as bad in the Carolinas and Georiga compared to some northern states. The Carolinas has around 200 active physicians per 100,000 residents. Massachusetts, Maryland, and New York have about 400 active physicians per 100,000 residents.
