Free ‘Starlight Cinema’ movies coming to Chantilly this August
The dog days of August will bring free movie screenings to the Sully Historic Site (3650 Historic Sully Way) in Chantilly. The outdoor Starlight Cinema events are a part of the “Summer Entertainment Series” organized annually by the Fairfax County Park Authority (FCPA). The authority is also hosting Arts in the Parks, Evenings on the Ellipse, Franconia District Nights and other programs at various parks around the county.

He’s blond, short and has a weakness for molasses. And he’s being honored for his work as a community ambassador for the Cloverleaf Equine Center in Clifton, Virginia. The Washington Post’s Tim Carman released his list of the “The 10 best breakfast sandwiches in the D.C. area”, which consisted mostly of sandwiches found in D.C. proper. One popular breakfast sandwich, located in Gaithersburg’s Kentlands neighborhood, was ranked 9th on the list– the Bistek at Lapu Lapu.
Reston Camps celebrates 50th Anniversary with reunion party
This year, the Reston Association is celebrating 50 years of Reston Camps, and as part of the milestone season, it is hosting a giant reunion of former camp staff from over the years. This reunion will be held on July 27 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Brown’s Chapel Park in Reston and will provide a chance for former counselors to reconnect, share memories, and learn how their experience with the Reston Camps program helped shape their careers.

Beautiful New Mural at Lake Anne Elementary School
This new, captivating art piece titled Water and Warmth features aquatic creatures, woodland animals, mandalas, and children. Mural Masters, Inc artists, Shawn James and Charles Lawrance worked over a few weeks and completed the artwork at the end of June. The Ribbon Cutting ceremony is August 15 at 3pm, located at Lake Anne Elementary School. Please join us!
Get Away: Tracks and Yaks Rail Bike Tours

Opened in Frostburg, Maryland, in May 2021, Tracks and Yaks tours depart from the historic Frostburg Depot and run along Western Maryland Scenic Railroad’s smooth steel tracks, offering gorgeous mountain views and a fun jaunt through the 914-foot Brush Tunnel.
