In a report highlighted by Minneapolis city officials, comprising Mayor Jacob Frey, Council Member Jeremiah Ellison, and other city leaders, it seems that Minneapolis is at the forefront of tackling affordable housing challenges in the nation. The document, titled "The Way Home: 2021-2023 Progress Report," showcases the strides the city has taken as a part of its larger Minneapolis 2040 Comprehensive Plan, according to the Minneapolis, City of Lakes. The focal point of the success story is the creation of 4,679 affordable housing units funded by nearly $365 million since 2018. By these numbers, Minneapolis has significantly increased its output compared to previous years’ averages.

Blue green algae warning is in effect for the Gathering Pond
The Kansas Department of Health and Environment has placed the Gathering Pond at Milford Lake under a blue green algae warning. According to the Milford Lake Corps of Engineers that means water is unsafe for humans and animals, visitors should avoid all contact with the water, DO NOT let pets eat dried algae or drink contaminated water and if fish are caught, clean well with potable water and eat fillets only.

Marsh and Mark Bachamp of Olsson Engineering introduced three concepts for the 2025 Buckeye Avenue CCLIP project to the Abilene City Commission during their last regular meeting. The Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) will contribute $400,000 toward surface preservation. The project spans Buckeye Ave. between NW 5th Street and the Union Pacific Railroad, focusing on surface preservation and streetscapes.
