River Valley District to Offer Stay Strong, Stay Healthy at Concordia Senior Center
Strength training is no longer just for bodybuilders. This summer, the River Valley Extension District will be offering Stay Strong, Stay Healthy, an eight-week, evidence-based strength training program designed for older adults who want to improve their quality of life and stay active. River Valley District Nutrition, Food Safety and Health Agent Kaitlin Moore says the exercises are easy to learn, safe and effective.

Hospital Donates to Fire Department
Employees of Memorial Health System in Abilene wore blue jeans at work for another “Jeans Day” fundraiser on Fridays throughout the month of June. According to the hospital, employees make a donation of at least $5 and are allowed to wear blue jeans at work. A total donation of $750 was donated to the Herington Fire Department for CPR training.

SEWARD, Neb. – Concordia University Wrestling will take on new leadership beginning with the 2024-25 season. On Wednesday (July 17), the Concordia University, Nebraska Athletic Department announced the hiring of Josh Watts as Head Wrestling Coach. Watts formerly served as the Director of Wrestling at Iowa Western Community College. Watts acted to immediately tab Isaiah Crosby as his lead assistant, a role Crosby also held at Iowa Western.
