Rumpke opens $100M MRF in Ohio to meet rising regional needs
Rumpke Waste & Recycling has opened its new 226,000-square-foot MRF in Columbus, Ohio, which it says is the “largest and most technologically advanced” in North America. The $100 million Rumpke Recycling & Resource Center uses Machinex equipment such as ballistic separators, trommel equipment, 19 optical sorters and other artificial intelligence-assisted features. Paloma De La Fuente withdraws from Ohio State Senate race
Paloma De La Fuente has withdrawn from the race for the Ohio State Senate. “Due to unforeseen circumstances, I am withdrawing from my race for the Second District of the Ohio State Senate,” Ms. De La Fuente said Tuesday in a message posted to X (formerly known as Twitter). “At this time, I need to prioritize the health of my family.” A University of Toledo student and Perrysburg native, Ms. De La Fuente won the Democratic nomination via a write-in campaign to face Rep. Theresa Gavarone (R., Bowling Green) in the 2nd, which consists of Lucas County’s western suburbs, all of Wood, Ottawa, and Erie counties, and small pieces of Huron County. “I am grateful for and appreciate all of the support, contributions and endorsements I have received,” Ms. De La Fuente said. “Please respect my privacy for myself and the family for the foreseeable future.”
