From the moment I first met Ebony Capshaw some 27 years ago, I knew that she was a young person born to make a positive difference in this world.

Intelligent, hilarious, high-spirited, and a leader from day one, she immediately made a great impression on me and on those around her in my 8th grade American History class. Well-respected by her teachers and peers alike, she proved herself then, as she’s proving herself now, to be a leader, a listener, and a uniter.

Ebony is running for Anderson County Commission, District 6, and I heartily endorse her for this position. From the time that she graduated from the Oak Ridge Schools in 2002, she has continued to thrive and excel, first as a college student at Roane State, Clark Atlanta University, and Johnson University, and since then as a leader in both the public and private sector, in the pharmacy technician education, health care, and higher education fields.

Not surprisingly, she has also thrown herself headlong into community service and leadership roles in organizations such as the NAACP, Child Advocacy Center, Altrusa, the TN Clinch Valley Boys & Girls Club, and a host of other local and regional groups.

Ebony’s diverse experience and proven leadership abilities make her an outstanding candidate for Anderson County Commission. She is a quick study, and she brings energy, positivity, empathy, and compassion to all of her endeavors. She is results-oriented, and she connects well with people of all ages and backgrounds.

Not only does she have the requisite skills and leadership experience to serve on the Commission, but most importantly, she has the humility and humanity to serve her constituents with vision and integrity. In all that she does, she embodies Clark Atlanta’s twin mottoes of “Culture for Service” and “I’ll Find a Way or Make One”. That’s the kind of energy we need on Anderson County Commission.

    Vote Capshaw for District 6!
