DuSable Lake Shore Drive closed in both directions for NASCAR Chicago Street Race
As the NASCAR Chicago Street Race course and event space for 2024 takes shape, a major Chicago thoroughfare is closed to the public: DuSable Lake Shore Drive. The highly anticipated event, set for July 6 and 7 in and around Grant Park, has already seen dozens of downtown road closures. At 9 p.m. Thursday, parts of the Drive saw road blocks, with the closure of westbound and eastbound Roosevelt Road between Michigan Avenue and DuSable Lake Shore Drive.

CHICAGO — This weekend’s Chicago Street Race is the third of five road courses on NASCAR’s 2024 Cup Series and Xfinity Series schedules. NASCAR made road-course stops at Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas, on March 24 and Sonoma (Calif.) Raceway on June 9. After Chicago, NASCAR has road-course races at Watkins Glen (N.Y.)
