An iconic downtown Ocala retailer, Shannon Roth Collection, is closing.

"Founded by Shannon Roth, the store has been a cherished destination for unique home décor, gifts and baby & kids boutique items through its adjoining Olivia & Co. Kids," the store said in a social media post.

Roth "started Shannon Roth Collection in the 1990s, originally on Broadway, then purchased and renovated the historic Dixie Theater at 22 South Magnolia in 2006," the post reads. "As she begins her next chapter, Shannon plans to focus on design projects and styling, embracing new creative endeavors beyond the confines of a physical store."

Most store items are now on sale. The store, 22 S. Magnolia Ave. on the downtown square, is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday.

"Over nearly four decades, my mother has not only been a cornerstone of historic downtown Ocala's business community, but also a trailblazer as a female entrepreneur," said Cass Roth-Retz, Shannon Roth's daughter and longtime business partner, in a prepared statement.

"Her resilience through countless challenges including debilitating storms and the pandemic are a testament to her unwavering spirit."
