World War II Veteran Dominick Critelli Honored
Hempstead Town Supervisor Don Clavin, Deputy Supervisor Dorothy Goosby, Councilman Dennis Dunne, Councilman Tom Muscarella and Councilwoman Melissa Miller presented the Town of Hempstead Champion of Freedom Award to Floral Park resident Dominick Critelli, a World War II veteran, during the Town of Hempstead Salute to Veterans event on June 29 at Town Park Point Lookout.
City’s residential rehab program is launched
Mayor Pamela Panzenbeck, chair of the Glen Cove Community Development Agency, announced the launch of the Residential Rehabilitation Program, coordinated by the Glen Cove CDA and supported by the Nassau County Office of Community Development. The program aims to provide needed home improvement funds to income-eligible seniors and disabled residents in Glen Cove.

The Sands Point Preserve Conservancy is hosting an Avant-Garden Party Gala on Tuesday, July 16 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the Hempstead House Garden. The magical affair will feature entertainment such as acrobats, sword-balancers and other performance artists. There will be a delicious buffet which will include vegetarian options and an open bar. Two in Police Custody After Being Nabbed with 14 Cases of Illegal Fireworks, Cops Say
The Arson Bomb Squad reports the arrest of two Franklin Square men for an incident that occurred on Thursday, July 4, 2024 at 6:18 PM in Franklin Square. According to detectives, Nicholas Moschonas, 33, of 516 3rd Street was observed setting off fireworks on the corner of 3rd Street and 2nd Avenue. Upon further investigation, it was determined that a 2019 Dodge RAM belonging to Peter Mari, 33, of 905 Hancock Avenue, was discovered with numerous boxes of fireworks inside the vehicle.
