Adams provides Oak Island's financial update
Oak Island Town Council approved a contract earlier this month with a Whiteville accounting firm to conduct an audit of what turned out to be a successful fiscal year. Prior to its vote, Interim Town Manager Kathryn Adams provided council with a financial rundown of the past fiscal year at the board’s July 9 meeting, highlighting key aspects of a productive 12 months. Fiscal year 2023-24 ended June 30 and Adams said the town did very well with its tax collection rate, paid parking program and debt management.
