This year's version of RAGBRAI — the Register's Annual Great Bicycle Ride Across Iowa — departs from Glenwood on Sunday, July 21, and ends 434 miles later in Burlington on Saturday, July 27. In between, there will be overnight stops at Red Oak, Atlantic, Winterset, Knoxville, Ottumwa and Mount Pleasant, with plenty to eat, drink, do and see along the way.

Grand Junction summerfest set for first weekend in August
50107 Summerfest will be held on August 2 and August 3 in Grand Junction. Most of the fun will happen in the old school lot, unless noted. Festivities start at 4 p.m. on Friday night with the opening of the beer tent. Gotcha Games Carnival, food vendors (Borrachos & Kona Ice), Greene County Cattlemen and yard games will start at 5 p.m. The carnival is the same group that was at the Bell Tower Festival. Burnin’ Sensations will play from 7-11 p.m.
