ECTOR COUNTY, Texas (KMID/KPEJ) – The Ector County Sheriff’s Office is warning the public of a scam that has been going around the community.

ECSO said it has been given information regarding a call from someone claiming to be from Ector County Judge Dustin Fawcett’s office, claiming to have a failure to appear warrant. The Sheriff’s Office said the caller is also naming Richard Dickson as an officer.

The Ector County Sheriff’s Office is reminding citizens that ECSO, the Odessa Police Department, and the Courts will not call and tell you that a warrant has been issued. Additionally, they will never ask for money to make the warrant go away.
