Odin Village Board honors a long time member who is leaving town
A long time member of the Odin Village Board has resigned due to leaving town. Jim Smith was honored at the board’s meeting last week with an acrylic clock for his 21 years of work on behalf of the village. During his tenure, Smith also served as interim mayor and mayor pro temp.
Kaskaskia College gets analysis of school’s enrollment
During its meeting on Monday night, the Kaskaskia College Board of Trustees learned about the results of an analysis of the school’s program enrollment. Julie Obermark, KC’s Vice President of instructional services, walked the board through the program review process, which covered the period from fall 2022 through spring 2024. Obermark says the review examines program cost, quality and need. She reported that overall enrollment trended upward during the analyzed time period, with the nursing and early childhood academic programs among the big gainers in terms of headcount and credit hours.

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. — A 33-year-old Illinois man drowned at Rockford Park on Big River in Jefferson County, Missouri. Guadalupe L. Lopez drowned around 1 p.m. on Tuesday, the Missouri Highway Patrol says. Lopez entered the water and went under and was pronounced dead by paramedics.
