Northwest Indiana Symphony’s 83rd Season Tickets Now Available
The Northwest Indiana Symphony is comprised of the Northwest Indiana Symphony Orchestra, the Northwest Indiana Symphony Youth Orchestra, the Norrthwest Indiana Symphony Chorus, and the Women’s Association. The orchestra, a group of 75 rostered professionals musicians is under the leadership of Music Director and Conductor, Kirk Musprratt. The orchestra plays a full season of subscription concerts, in addition to our Summer Music Festival with free summer evening concerts in 7 different communities. The Symphony also provides numerous education and outreach initiatives.
Hard Rock Casino Northern Indiana gifts funds to Urban League of Northwest Indiana for groundbreaking Indiana University Northwest-affiliated scholarship
On the evening of Wednesday, July 17, representatives from the Hard Rock Casino Northern Indiana, Urban League of Northwest Indiana, and Indiana University (IU) Northwest gathered in the Hard Rock Casino's Jackson Family Tribute Gallery. The Hard Rock Casino presented Urban League with a $250,000 check that will be used to fund the all-new Do Well by Doing Good Scholarship Program. This program, which was established between Urban League and IU Northwest, will provide Gary high school graduates attending IU Northwest with crucial financial aid.

Whiting Park Festival Orchestra kicks off Summer with the Symphony 2024 season with concert celebrating Mother Nature’s power
On the cool evening of Saturday, July 20, the Whiting Park Festival Orchestra (WPFO) performed the first concert of its Summer with the Symphony series at Whiting Lakefront Park’s Mary E. Bercik Memorial Pavilion. The theme of this free concert was “Don’t Mess with Mother Nature!” Attendees set up their lawn chairs and folding tables on the grass in front of the pavilion, either enjoying snacks from home or snacking on treats from the concession stand. Martin Dybel, general manager of the WPFO, founded the orchestra alongside conductor Maestro Robert Vodnoy in 1999. Dybel also established the Summer with the Symphony concerts in 1994 and believes that the program has had a significant positive impact on the Whiting community.
