Maj. Gen. Monte Rone told a Military Affairs Council Breakfast audience in Junction City this week that Fort Riley can't be a secret. Springfield city manager withdraws from job search in Manhattan, Kansas
After being named one of four finalists for a city manager job in Manhattan, Kansas, Springfield City Manager Jason Gage has withdrawn his candidacy. Gage has worked for the city of Springfield for six years. Gage was hired in 2018 after working in Salina, Kansas, for 18 years also as city manager. Manhattan Levee Project has cost city 23 million year-to-date
City Commissioners will hear an update, next week, from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and City staff regarding the ongoing Manhattan Levee Project. Cleanup effort will be conducted on Grant Avenue
There will be an effort to spruce up Grant Ave on the north side of Junction City. Phyllis Fitzgerald is coordinating a volunteer cleanup on Saturday beginning at 7:30 a.m. at the boat dock / parking area near the Republican River on the north side of Junction City. Unemployment rates up across the region for June
Jul. 24—Unemployment rates in the region and the state went up again in June, according to preliminary reports from the Kansas Department of Labor. In Riley County, the unemployment rate reached 4% in June after it was at 3% in May. Geary County saw a jump from 4.2% in May to 5% in June.
