Hilton man reels in record-breaking longnose gar
Chuck Zimmerman of Hilton set a new state record for longnose gar on June 21, 2024. Using a topwater swimbait, Zimmerman reeled in a 15-pound, 14-ounce longnose gar from Butterfield Lake in Jefferson County. The record-breaking catch surpassed the previous state record longnose gar, caught from Lake Champlain in 2018, by one pound and four ounces.

A new happy hour event is coming to Rochester's Innovative Field this fall. The Bud Light Ballpark Happy Hour will take place while the Red Wings are away playing Indianapolis on Sept. 13.
